The Full Story
Hello, I’m Greg Haren, Owner and Operator of Caregivers For Seniors. Our story began in 1988 when my father, James H. Haren, founded the company after a deeply personal experience with his own mother. At 86, my grandmother was hospitalized for what should have been a routine gallstone surgery in Dalton, Georgia. But at her age, even routine procedures carry risks.
At the time, my father lived in Florida. He tried to arrange regular companionship for her through family, friends, and church members, but consistent support was hard to find. Sadly, my grandmother passed away six months later. My father always believed that with the right care and companionship, she could have lived several more years.
Determined to make a difference, he asked two doctor friends in Florida, “Who helps seniors when their loved ones pass on, but they still want to stay at home?” Their answer: “No one.” So he launched Caregivers For Seniors — opening his first office in Florida.
In 2002, I took the leap to expand our mission to Texas, where we continue to proudly serve today. Caregivers For Seniors remains a true family-owned business, rooted in compassion, affordability, experience, and the belief that every senior deserves care that feels like family.
